New Hampshire is the first state to “opt-out” of the federal FirstNet program. Governor Chris Sununu announced this week that New Hampshire will pursue it’s own agreement with Rivida Networks. The federal government recently reached an agreement with AT&T to build out the national FirstNet system and each state has the option to work with a different provider if they desire. Rivida is a world wide company that builds LTE systems. New Hampshire has already been contacted by providers interested in using the infrastructure that will be built by Rivida for their operations when it is not needed by public safety users.
