Andover Teen Pleads in SWATing Case

An Andover, Massachusetts 17 year old has pleaded guilty after being tried for a number of SWATing incidents across the country. After an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and multiple State Police agencies. The teen is accused of leading a group of hackers placing calls to victims in Massachusetts and New York, including a series of “Robocalls” to schools in Massachusetts. Officials executed a search warrant at the teens home and secured a number of pieces of electronics for evidence. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the teen as a “youthful offender” due to the seriousness of his crimes, which can result in time in a state prison.
