TX Governor Signs 9-1-1 Accessibility Bill

Texas has passed a new bill requiring easy access to 9-1-1 from hotels and motels. Previously each establishment used different protocols to call out of the hotel like dialing “9” before a call or having to speak with the front desk first. These complications are believed to have been a contributing factor in the murder of Kari Rene Hunt Dunn. Dunn was murdered by her husband, and her child was unable to call 9-1-1 for help. The law is named in her memory.
