Domestic Violence Victim Gets Help By Ordering Pizza

There has been an increase in awareness of creative methods of requesting help in a domestic violence situation. Recently a Florida woman escaped a violent relationship when she ordered pizza. Cheryl Treadway was being held hostage along with three children by her boyfriend Ethan Earl Nickerson. Nickerson had taken Treadway’s cell phone and would not let her leave the apartment. Treadway saw an opportunity and acted quickly when Nickerson had her order pizza online. In the comments of the order Treadway wrote that she was being held hostage and needed help. The manager at the restaurant saw the message and called police. Nickerson met police with a knife, and was eventually taken into custody.
